When will my pledge ship?

Ahoy: New Horizon content will ship in approximately Q1 of 2025. Follow along to our campaign updates for more details as we get closer to that shipping date.

If your pledge includes a copy of the Ahoy base game, the base game will ship at the conclusion of the campaign (Q4 2023.)

When will shipping charges be collected?

Shipping charges will be collected closer to when the campaign closes, at that time we’ll charge cards for shipping.

We will send out updates via BackerKit in advance of this lock date.

What if I move or need to change my shipping address?

If you need to update your address after the campaign ends, but before we lock addresses, you can do so directly via your BackerKit survey.

Will shipping rates change prior to fulfillment?

It is extremely unlikely but not impossible. If rates do change, we will notify backers appropriately before shipping charges are collected. We always do our best to avoid increasing any costs already determined in a campaign.

Will the new factions re-use components from the base game, or will they have all new components?

Each new faction will come with new components (meeples, punchboard, dice, etc.) corresponding to their powers.

Will the base box of Ahoy fit the expansion content?

The Ahoy base box will fit all of the new expansion content with the removal of the insert. Yes, sleeved cards as well.

Why did I receive part of my pledge and not the whole thing?

If your pledge includes a copy of the Ahoy base game, we’re able to send it immediately following the campaign as it is in stock at our warehouse. You’ll receive the Ahoy: New Horizons content once we finish printing and shipping the expansion (estimated Q1 of 2025.)

Are there exclusives in this campaign? Will everything be available later in retail?

We will sell all expansion content at a later date in retail, including things like the mini expansion and the coins. We do not do campaign exclusives, so if you can’t back it now you won’t miss out!

I’m a European backer. Will I have to pay VAT?

Yes, as required by law. VAT rates will be based on the cost of your total pledge plus shipping, and vary depending on your residing country. These costs will be reflected and collected in the pledge manager after the crowdfunding campaign is over.

My region is not covered under the “friendly” shipping areas, will I have to pay customs/VAT/additional taxes?

All regions and countries not listed under “friendly” shipping areas are subject to any regional import fees or taxes as they may apply locally.

Is shipping to the UK duty-free?

Yes, we will be partnering with a UK-based fulfiller so that UK pledges will be duty-free. However, orders will still be subject to VAT.

The shipping section says you aren’t shipping to my region, can you please add my region?

Unfortunately we cannot. We encourage you to contact a local retailer and make plans with them to place a retail order. if possible.

Will the Ahoy Expansion or base game be printed in any languages other than English?

The first printing of the Ahoy expansion and base game are only in English. As a general rule we implement localization efforts with the second printing of our products. There are a number of internal and external resources required for the more than 13 languages our games are printed in and we’ve found this is the most efficient process for the studio and its partners.

Can I pledge for multiple copies?

Yes, a maximum total of 6 pledges may be purchased. For shipping rates per additional pledge, please review our shipping rate sheet on the main campaign page

Will content from this BackerKit campaign be available in retail?

Yes, all content shown in this campaign will have a retail release after fulfilment to backers is complete. At this time, we estimate this to be Q3 of 2025.

Why aren’t there any Stretch Goals?

Leder Games aims to present you with the full product offering on the first day of our campaigns. As a general ethos, we want to give our crowdfunding backers a substantial value without attempting to capitalize on the fear of missing out or gimmicks.

Is there a Solo Mode?

There is no plan to develop a solo or clockwork opponent for Ahoy at this time.

Will there be any plans for Ahoy to be playable at 5-6 players?

No, currently the game goes up to four players. The New Horizons expansion does provide four unique alternate factions for the base game!

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
